Depicts a river landscape with mill. Title on gold mount.
A Crist (or Grist mill) is simply a watermill used for grinding grain. Probably a decorative work rather than a depiction of a specific place.
Depicts a mill with horses and cart and rowing boat.
Size of frame: 33.5 x 28.5 inches;
Size of canvas: 26.5 x 21.5 inches;
Size of front painting aperture: 25.5 x 20.5 inches.
Weight: 4.6 kg (allow up to 15 kg volumetric weight once packed).
Very tatty condition, commensurate with age - large areas of damage, ie flaking of paint, large areas of paint loss, craquelure, a large repair to reverse and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from frame but all part of its charm and character.
Priced accordingly.
Best described as shabby chic or distressed.
Collection in person is recommended but I will post at the buyer's risk.
