Unsigned but the artist's name is written on reverse - Joseph Clover (British, 1779-1853).
There is also a label with provenance on reverse - see photo.
Oil on panel. Elaborate gilt gesso frame.
Size of frame: 23.25 x 19.75 inches;
Size of panel: 16.5 x 12 inches;
Size of front portrait aperture: 15.75 x 11 inches.
Weight: 3.2 kg (allow 9 kg volumetric weight once packed).
Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and some superficial damage to gesso frame ie some knocks to and pieces missing, but all part of its charm and character.
