English, attributed to Edmund Bristow (1787-1876).

Unsigned but has label on reverse with artist's name.

Oil on panel. Elaborate gilt gesso frame.

Depicts a traveller with his donkey at an inn with dogs.

Size of frame: 15.25 x 13 inches.

Size of panel: 9 x 7 inches.

Size of front painting aperture: 8.5 x 6.5 inches.

Weight: 1.5 kg (allow 5 kg volumetric weight once packed).

Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and some knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character.
