French, circa 1920s.
Signed by the artist (on reverse).
Oil on canvas. Gilt frame.
Size of frame: 28.75 × 21 inches;
Size of canvas: 23.75 x 19.75 inches;
Size of front portrait aperture: 23.5 × 18 inches.
Weight: 1.35 kg (allow 7 kg volumetric weight once packed).
Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and some knocks to gilt frame but all part of its charm and character.
Please note there was previously significant damage to the canvas, ie a large tear all along the bottom edge, but the painting has since been trimmed and some restoration work done to make sound. As a result, the signature is no longer visible but has been affixed to the reverse.
Priced accordingly.
