Couple of antique pewter tankards.
English, dating from the Victorian era, circa 1860-80.
Of the type that would have come from a traditional tavern or inn for drinking ale.
If these could speak, they would have some tales to tell.
Large – height 6.5 inches; diameter 4.5 inches; weight 700g. Small – height 5.25 inches; diameter 4 inches; weight 550g.
Combined weight: 1.2 kg (allow 2 kg once packed).
Both have assay marks and inscriptions on base but hard to decipher.
Reasonable condition for their age – various superficial marks & scratches, dings & dents, etc, but priced accordingly and all part of their charm.
