Couple of antique glove stretchers.
English circa 1900.
1 ebony, 1 ox bone with metal pins.
Used by society ladies to straighten the fingers of their long gloves. It was considered inappropriate for ladies to show their hands in public in Victorian times in England and so they wore long silk gloves.
Sizes: ebony – 8 inches; ox bone – 7.25 inches.
Combined weight: 150g (allow 500g once packed).
Reasonable condition for their age. Perfectly functional although would make great display items.
