Antique Victorian childs carriage or cart

Antique Victorian carriage or cart – child’s size.

This is a fully working. scale model of a Victorian cart carriage. apparently made as a child’s toy. Perhaps the sort of plaything which would grace an English country house.

A handmade and probably unique item.

This cart has nice provenance in that actually came from the writer. John Bayley’s home (best known as Iris Murdoch’s husband) who lived in the south of England. He died a few years ago.

Size:
length 39 inches;
width 25.5 inches;
Height 29 inches;
Wheel diameter 15.5 inches;
Actual size of each seat: 16 x 8 inches.

(All measurements are from the external extremities).

Good condition for its age – wheels turn and run fine. One panel on the inside (not easily visible) has woodworm holes but has been treated.

Collection only from Brockley. London SE4 2ED (or you are welcome to arrange your own courier – I would recommend an ebay-friendly
courier (such as Anyvan).  Please note
that the item will not be packed up and you should be aware of this before
arranging for collection by a courier.

We do travel about from time to time so
do ask if we are able to deliver for a small fee in the near (or not too
distant!) future – perhaps a long shot but worth a try.
