A bit about Arthur Bowmar Porter (1876 – 1960) (from Online Galleries):
"Landscape and figure painter born in Jersey, the younger son of William Porter of the Jersey company, Noel and Porter. He studied at Victoria College, Reading University and the Royal College of Art. He lived and worked in the London area and taught at Reading Grammar School, Woodford Green and New Barnet before retiring to Jersey after the War. He exhibited from 1898-1934 in London at the Royal Academy, Royal Institute of Oil Painters, Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, London Salon, Royal Society of Portrait Painters, International Society and outside the capital at the Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts and Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool".

Good condition for its age – the frame has some minor knocks but painting is generally in good condition.
