Antique French copper saucepan.
No maker’s name apparent but “30” stamped on side.
Nice large and sturdy size.
Diameter 12 inches;
Depth: 6.25 inches.
Weight: 3 kg (allow 4.5 kg once packed).
Good condition – this has been professionally re-tinned at a specialised factory which still carries on the old traditions and polished on the outside – restored to its former glory.
It does retain some superficial scratches on the base and sides and has a rusty handle but these are all part of its character and do not detract. The base doesn’t sit completely flat. ie a tad wobbly. so more suited to a gas flame rather than an aga.
Copper pans are the first choice of all the top chefs. because of its ability to conduct quickly and evenly.
