Antique French beaten copper saute pan with cast iron handle.
No maker's marks or stamps apparent.
Circa 1890. A solid, no-no nonsense piece.
Diameter: 8.5 inches;
Depth: 2.25 inches;
Length of handle: 9.25 inches;
Thickness of pan: 2 mm.
Weight: 1.6 kg (allow 3 kg once packed).
This pan is in reasonable condition – it does have a strip of copper missing from the top rim but this is aesthetic and the pan is perfectly functional as it has its original tinned interior.
Copper has always been the first choice of all the top chefs due to its properties of quick and even heat distribution.

I am an avid collector of all things aesthetic, antique and vintage. There can be a wealth of treasure to be sniffed out if you search hard enough - individual items often disregarded by the public who seem to prefer mass-produced goods from the high street.
That’s certainly not us! Over time, we've accumulated so much that we can’t keep everything so, to keep my hobby fresh, I can at least offer others the chance to have custody of these unique things.
Thus, Anthea's Attic was born. I've been selling my wares worldwide online for the last 10 years but can now offer a greater range of antiques & collectibles, clothes and much more to my customers direct.
Stocking everything from Victorian Antiques, Georgian collectibles, Antique Paintings, Vintage Clothes, Vintage Textiles, Vintage Furniture, Antique Books, French Linens, Second Hand Furniture.
I believe we are the best antique dealer in Brockley, South East London.
Best wishes and thanks for dropping by.
